We hold the annual conference of the Intercultural Education Society of Japan each June.
The conference lasts three days, with a pre-seminar on the first day, and a symposium on IESJ Annual Research Theme, Individual Paper Presentations, Group Presentations, Poster Presentations, and so on taking place on the second and third days. In addition to Public Symposia in which anyone can participate without registration, there are networking events for the conference participants.
Only members can give presentations, but non-members can also participate.
The conference is basically held in Japanese, but from the 2022 conference, we have begun accepting presentations in English. Only members can apply to give presentations in English in the Individual Paper Presentation or Poster Presentation categories, but for Group Presentation and Case/Panel Presentation categories, joint presentations by members and non-members are permitted.
The Intercultural Education Society of Japan has established an “Outstanding Presentation Award” for “Individual paper presentation of individual research,” in order to encourage its junior researchers. Presenters who use English are also eligible.
